n the early 1950s, Crown Electric Company in Memphis, Tennessee was one of Elvis Presley's first employers. Elvis drove a truck to various job sites, delivering electrical supplies to the workers. The owners, James and Gladys Tipler, became huge Elvis fans in subsequent years. When possible, Mrs Tipler's birthday was celebrated in Las Vegas when Elvis was performing. This original photo, Ca 1970s, of her birthday party at the International Hotel (Mrs Tipler is at bottom left) was inscribed (signed) by Elvis at bottom center, as shown in the scan.
