    This is a real B&W photo postcard of the corner-stone laying ceremony for the new public school in Royal, Iowa, in the early 1900s.  Royal is a community in Clay County in northwest Iowa. The word “papa” is penned on the image and is explained in the handwritten note on the address side of the card.
