Description
*RARE* HUTSCHENREUTHER 'SYLVIA' GRAY ROSE TEAPOT with PLATINUM TRIM c1925-1939 ~ MINT!Exquisite Bavarian Hutschenreuther "Sylvia" Teapot featuring subtle gray rosebuds and beautiful platinum trim. In 1857 Lorenz Hutschenreuther opened his own independent factory in the town of Selb and quickly became the first German porcelain company to be able to compete with the likes of Haviland and Wedgwood.
The vintage Green Lion mark, found on the bottom, reads "Hutchenreuther Selb . LHS Germany Sylvia" all printed in green, and a number '30' printed in platinum, dates this lovely piece to between 1925-1939. (The green period after 'Selb' is meaningful in terms of dating this piece.) A treasure for any vintage porcelain teapot collector --
